The Highlights: Easy-access roadside boondocking area with enough room for several vehicles and less crowding than nearby recreation sites. Despite some OHV traffic and evidence of recreational shooting use, the area remains relatively quiet, especially on weekdays.

Connectivity:

No cell signal on T-Mobile or Google Fi reported

Access Notes:

The first ~0.5 mile of road is BLM land
A private property section follows before reaching National Forest farther in
Large parking-style dispersed area near highway
The road is easy for all vehicles at first, becoming more rutted farther in
One additional smaller spot farther down on left side
Popular with OHV users but relatively quiet on weekdays
Evidence of target shooting activity present (spent casings/bones observed)
Very faint or no highway noise despite proximity to CO-9
Suitable for cars, vans, SUVs, trucks, and larger rigs in lower section
Primitive dispersed camping with no facilities or services
Best for quick overnight stops, OHV access, and low-crowd roadside camping
