Valley Gravel Pull-Off Campsite (Lower Trail Access Area)

The Setup: Dispersed camping area in a quiet valley with multiple campers spaced out across a large gravel pull-off zone. The main trailhead continues several miles farther up a rougher road, but this lower section serves as a practical stopping point.

Amenities: None reported.

The Highlights: Peaceful valley setting with scattered campers and a strong sense of solitude despite light weekend use. Open scenery and easy gravel access make it a good basecamp alternative when the upper trailhead road becomes too rough or restrictive for larger rigs.

Connectivity: Not specified.

Access Notes:

Gravel road for the final ~2–3 miles
The trailhead continues ~3.5 miles farther on rough, rocky road (not suitable for larger vehicles)
The lower valley area suitable for camping if upper access is too difficult
Our 23’ shuttle bus conversion could not proceed past this point
Suitable for vans, trucks, SUVs, and smaller campers
Likely more active on weekends than weekdays
No amenities or services
Best for basecamping before attempting upper trail access
