Remote BLM Badlands Camping Near Hell’s Creek Rd (543)

The Setup: A large BLM dispersed camping area with many pull-off spots along Hell’s Creek Rd (543). A dirt road is generally passable without 4WD but can become muddy and rutted after rain. Suitable for vans and high-clearance vehicles like a Transit 350.

Amenities: Primitive dispersed camping with no facilities. A nearby alternative is a pay campground at Hells River State Park if conditions worsen.

The Highlights: Remote high-desert landscape with badlands-style hills, hoodoos, and wide-open scenery. Quiet and isolated with multiple potential camping spots spread across the area.
