McClellan Trailhead NF Pull-Off Corridor Campsites
The Setup: Stretch of National Forest land from the McClellan Trailhead with multiple dispersed clearings and roadside pull-offs suitable for small groups and van-style camping.
Amenities: None (primitive dispersed camping).
The Highlights: Several large forest clearings under tree cover plus at least three main pull-offs suitable for Class B vans or small tow trailers. Good spacing between trees allows tent camping options throughout the corridor. The recently graded gravel road makes access relatively easy despite heavy use.
Connectivity:
Verizon: ~1–2 bars in weaker spots
Access Notes: The road is generally passable in 2WD and has been recently maintained. Highway noise is present but not overwhelming. The area sees frequent use, and some trash is present—pack-in/pack-out is important to preserve conditions. Trailer turning can be tight in some pull-offs.
