McClellan Trailhead NF Pull-Off Campsites with Multiple Clearings
The Setup: Dispersed camping area on National Forest land stretching from the McClellan Trailhead along a gravel forest road. Multiple large forest clearings and at least three roadside pull-offs suitable for van camping or small tow trailers.
Amenities: Primitive dispersed sites with no facilities or services.
The Highlights: Several spacious camping clearings under forest canopy with room for tents and small groups. A freshly graded gravel road makes access relatively easy, even for 2WD vans. Popular area with frequent use, but still offers usable space and forest privacy.
Connectivity:
Verizon: ~1–2 bars (weak to minimal in some spots)
Access Notes: Suitable for Class B vans and small trailers, though turning around with trailers may be limited. Some roadside noise from the nearby highway can be heard, but overall conditions are manageable. Light litter was reported in areas—pack in/pack out strongly encouraged.
