Multiple forested dispersed campsites – Several camping options located along the road leading toward Grizzly Peak.
Easy access from Shale City Road – Reach the area by turning off Indian Memorial Road onto Shale City Road.
Good road conditions – Well-graded gravel roads with no high-clearance vehicle required.
Large flat campsite near trail road – Shortly after the pavement ends and the gravel road begins, there is a spacious flat campsite tucked among the trees on the right side.
Additional camps farther in – More dispersed sites are scattered farther toward the trailhead and along nearby BLM spur roads.
Best for small to medium rigs – Suitable for vans, truck campers, and moderate-sized trailers.
No amenities or cell service – Primitive camping area with no facilities and little to no mobile coverage.
Beautiful hiking nearby – Grizzly Peak offers a scenic 5-mile loop hike with panoramic valley views.
Close to Ashland – Conveniently located about 20 minutes from town while still feeling remote and peaceful.
