The Setup: Free dispersed camping area within a BLM-managed National Monument, located off County Road 491 near the Sand Canyon region. Multiple established camping spots spread across open desert terrain with scenic views and access to cultural and historical sites nearby, including Sand Canyon Pueblo.

Access Notes:

Accessed via gravel and sand roads off CR 491, approximately 1 mile past a nearby trailhead
Grooved road sections require careful tire placement but are passable in most conditions
After cattle gates, turn left (satellite view recommended for navigation)
Suitable for most vehicles with reasonable clearance; 4x4 recommended for exploring deeper sites
Abundant dispersed camping options in surrounding area, especially for off-road capable vehicles
Wood is available for collection in the area (follow local rules/regulations)
